Story SHOW YOUR HOPE on Child Labor: the children in this painting are blanco, a dutch expression for both white and empty. Related to the innocence and pureness they carry. It is like they are invisible as prisoners in an unknown working system. As long as they are empty, they are voiceless.
However, there is also hope in this painting. The birds represent the freedom. A blue gate represents the option to flee, to find freedom.
It is the hope to find that freedom, which keeps these children alive.
