The Mobile Global Exhibition
Project statement

dear people,

Several years we have had relatively low options for traveling. Our car broke down in 2005 and before we recovered mechanicaly and financially we were into plans that that were more initiated at home. Both local ínour city and national.
In 2007 we have finally performed again in other countries. That is nice, because our storytelling becomes extra interesting with multiple language translations.

we have been on the excellent Ex Yu Rock festival in Bosnia.

A festival that brings together young and old and that brings together people from all entities of this deviaded country. It's a music festival with 6 Pack and Majke and many more bands. We've met Darko from Travnik, still using his expertise about soundenginering for good causes. We met young Bosnian-Dutch guys who went back to Bosnia. "I will go back one day, so I better go back as soon as possible and do something usefull". Excellent people. We met Arno van de Pas off coure and his POP institute. Great people.
First time we did evening performances in english, german and serbo-kroatian and laugued our buts off.

With many thanks forthe support of the Royal Dutch Embassy in Sarajevo

For 9 days we were to suppose to enjoy ourselve before the next major exhibition on Sziget in Budapest. We used this time for doing friendly visits at locations that we've visited many times before.

We visited Zelenkovac and the famous "Boro zasto nije otisao?' gallery.
This gallery is located in the heart of the Balkans, near the place where Tito formed the second Yugoslav republic. It is on 900 meters altitude and a public place. Two of the painting of the mobile global exhibition are added in this place in 2003.
There was an intenational social introduction camp going on with young people from Finland, Russia, Serbia and Bosnia and we did a fine presentation as introduction in universalism through diversity.

With thanks to Boris Jankovic and the great team of Zelenkovac.

Returing to Slovenia is returning home. There is Euro, there is more Western European mentality, there are tourists. We hooked up with good friends that will join us for the rest of the journey. It is returing to the place where we have been so many times and passed even more. Meeting again the 'society of friends of slow progress' [by now translated as 'the friends of society of reasonable progress'], that we became member of, back in 1992.
The mobile global exhibition used an other system to present at the beautifull location of the Koperground Festival, the yard of the regional historical museum in Koper. This system showed how easily the mobile global exhibition can change in set up while still being very flexible and beautiful. This exhibition was set up in three hours, we enjoyed it and we were impressed as the audience was.

Crossing Slovenia northwest to southeast and then from southwest to notheast we passed Ljubljana twice. LJ is a sleeping city in Holiday times but also a vibrant city when you know where to go. In Metelkova there are many options where spontanious activity can take place. Metelkova is a semi legalized and semi underground cultural location in the center of the town. Located in the former JNA army barracks Metelkova is now a vital place in the capitol that ones was influenced by punk rock and youth culture.

We performed a friendly exhibition at Menza for students of the stop picture workshop and had a wonderfull sunday evening. Many old fiends.

Thanks to Natasha Serec for her excellent support and feeling with our project inside the Metelkova organization

So we were on our way to Sziget festival in Budapest.

One of the largest festivals in Europe with over 15 stages, over 350.000 visitors welcomed the mobile global exhibition as if is was an expected attraction on the festival. Daily 6 to 8 presentations took place with all together over 2500 people who participated actively. A massive experiece and a maxmimun good time with multi language presentations for a very diverse but young audience.
The Sziget festival presentations prove the universal caracter of the mobile global exhibition. A large audience of over 20 countries added themselves to our mailingslist, MTV Hungary took a shot in front of our truck, Indian internet television Naukanti made an interview and we have seen many pictures on websites. A welcome experient for our future exhibitions.

Special thanks to the Sziget festival organization [although the Sziget organization still has to earn the compliments]and the Royal Dutch Embassy in Budapest

After being in Budapest have having a few days rest we presented at the beautiful Danubiana Museum. It was our second visit to this museum, since we have recieved the great painting of Peter Pollag in 2003. In that time we presented 9 paintings and 27 empty panels. Now we brought 120 paintings at a rainy day, so we only had incidental presentations. the Rotterdam Youth Symphonie Orchstra played as well that day.

With thanks to mister Vincent Polakovic and Danubiana Museum.

At the very end we wanted to present ourselves at the Documenta 12 in Kassel. But a rainy day changed into heavy showers and our work back home piled up.
We would like to recieve an invitation for the documenta 13 so will have some time fulfil our mission: going East to India and eventually to China in 2008.

TX
